How We Can Help

Assessment & Diagnosis
Assessment: €65 - 40 minutes
At Deasy Physiotherapy, we hear your story and take a detailed history. To that end, we create an individualized treatment plan including Assessment & Diagnosis aimed at achieving the functional goals we set together.

Part 1 of your assessment with your physiotherapist will involve taking a detailed subjective history.
Your physiotherapist will ask you a series of questions regarding your symptoms, past medical history, any medications your on and your current level of physical activity. You may on occasion be asked to fill in a questionnaire. These are validated tests utilized to score you and give a measure from which objectivity can be applied to your case.

Part 2 of your assessment will involve a detailed physical examination. In the examination your physiotherapist may assess your strength, joint range of motion, balance, coordination, walking, posture and functional capacity.

Part 3 of your physiotherapy assessment will involve a discussion between you and your physiotherapist about the findings of the assessment and a treatment plan will be drawn up.

Treatment
Treatment: €65 - 40 minutes
We take the time to understand the root of your problem in order to provide the best and most effective treatment. Through our years of experience, we’ve found that continued care is a crucial part of the recovery process.

There is a huge array of treatments that Physiotherapists can do. Below is a list of the most common treatments:
-
Soft tissue massage
-
Trigger point therapy - direct pressure is applied to the area and held still
-
Joint mobilisations - pressure is applied to the joints to increase movement
-
Postural correction and exercise prescription - this can start as simply as some things to remember about your posture on a daily basis, to gentle exercises at home, progressing to gym exercises and return to sport programs.
-
Advice and education - This will cover what to do to help yourself and what to avoid.

Your Physiotherapist will decide upon what treatments will be the most effective for your issue. It’s important to remember none of them are compulsory, if you would prefer not to have a particular type of treatment you can always opt out.
